Earrings Faceted Citrine
Sunny, vibrant, almost transparent citrine in these earrings brings a burst of positivity and a smile. The facets shape the stone and enhance its brilliance.
Citrine is the stone of the powerful. The lemon-yellow gem often adorned the regalia of the elite — crowns, tiaras, necklaces, rings, and much more. Despite its popularity among the highborn, few knew the true name of the mineral — for a long time, it was mistaken for topaz.
The situation changed in 1747, when chemist Valerius discovered that this gem had nothing in common with topaz. He classified it as a separate species and named it citrine.
Citrine’s unique feature is its pleochroism — the ability to change hues depending on the angle and lighting.
The screw-back clasps prevent loss, and the shape of the clasp allows the earrings to be worn both ways, adding a touch of whimsy.
